YOGABLOOM is a love story. It started as a shared love for practice and it developed into a family. We don’t use the word family just to describe our household, we use it also to communicate the nurturing, supportive and joyful community that we have dreamed to host in our Basel city-center yoga oasis.
At its roots, YOGABLOOM began when we, Sandi and Emily, connected as friends.
With a local and growing Kids & Family Yoga community (since 2015), we began to collaborate with the vision to create a Family Yoga Retreat in Southern Italy. Coincidentally (or not) Sandi had at that time a website already launched with the name YOGABLOOM and it was easy to imagine that as the online hOMe for telling the story of the first retreat.
It was through that collaboration that the seed of YOGABLOOM was planted.
It was still quite some years before the vision grew into a studio space. And on September 4th, 2022 we opened the doors to a new part of our life. Along the way to that opening there were new ‘family’ members - both literally (as we welcomed Jade, our daughter, into the world) and figuratively as we welcomed teachers, friends, collaborators, yoga practitioners and so on into the heart of our dream.
Now we smile as we watch the community blossom.
BASEL YOGA STUDIO
With almost 100 m2 our bright larger Shala can hold around 30 people on yoga mats and features 14 Aerial Hammocks. This space hosts many of our regular classes and special events.
Our smaller Shala has a more relaxed and intimate feeling. With about 45 m2 we can hold space for groups up to 12 people on yoga mats. Some of our regular classes happen here.
This could be considered part of the heart of YOGABLOOM itself. Before and after class, when possible, we encourage students to connect in our community area.
