No prior experience needed. Are you interested in a new form of Pilates training? This workshop is the right place for you. Together we will reinvent traditional Pilates exercises using a vertical hammock, typically used for Aerial Yoga.
Are you new to Pilates? No problem. The exercises are precisely instructed and there are different levels of difficulty, so that the workshop is designed for both beginners and more advanced practitioners.cAerial Pilates, like normal Pilates training, is about strengthening the core of the body. The hammock helps us to incorporate more playful elements and “take off” in flight together.

Showing up for your first Aerial Yoga class can feel intimidating. Here are some details that are going to help you arrive with a little more ease. Of course if you don’t find your questions answered here, please send us an email.

We want you to know that we will do our best to make you feel comfortable and supported as your practice develops in a pace that is right for you. That said, we suggest that you start with one of these three options:
Take the Introduction to Aerial Yoga Workshop
Attend any Level 1 Class on our Weekly Schedule
Schedule an Aerial Yoga Private lesson, tailored 100% to your needs
Starting in one of these ways will allow us to set you up for a confident flight. With the right start you will likely be able to progress into any of our regular weekly classes and Level 2 workshops very quickly.

For aerial yoga, it is best to wear form-fitting clothes. On your Upper Body, a T-Shirt or Long-Sleeve Shirt is required and on your Lower Body consider wearing leggings that go to your ankles. The layer of clothing will provide you some protection from friction with the hammock.
Do not wear zippers on your clothes (this is especially important with many sport leggings) to protect the fabric of our hammocks.
Please be prepared to remove all jewelry. If you have a piece of jewelry that cannot be removed we will determine together if it should be covered with tape or if it can be worn.
Come fed, but not too full. Best is to eat a good meal at least one to two hours before class. It is best to practice Aerial Yoga on a fairly empty stomach but of course it is important to have good energy! Sometimes a small snack closer to the class time - like a handful of nuts or a banana - will help keep your blood sugar just right for practice.
Consider bringing a closed water bottle to carry into the Yoga room so that you can stay hydrated.
Arrive 10 to 15 minutes early for class so that we can show you around and get you set up with a hammock that is the proper height for you. For Aerial Yoga we cannot admit late arrivals.
-
Yes, we have a limited number of hammocks that we can hang during each Aerial Yoga session and these classes do sell out. You can - of course - just show up before the class time but having a pre-reservation will guarantee you a place in class.
PLEASE NOTE: We ask for at least 4 hours notice for cancellations. That way we can open up places in class to participants on our waitlist. Late cancels (less than 4 hours before class, and no shows) may result in a 20 CHF fee. You can make your early cancellation via MindBody or send us a quick email info@yogabloom.ch.
-
You can be added to the class up to 1 hour before the class begins. A text notification (this is our preferred method - please make sure your phone number is correct on MindBody) or email will be sent to you to let you know that a place in class has opened up. If there are additional Waitlist participants you may have a limited amount of time to confirm your participation. The good news is that many of our waitlist participants end up getting into class, so plan on making it to the class. If your plans change, please remove yourself from the Waitlist.
