CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
At YOGABLOOM, you will find a variety of Yoga and Movement classes that are instructional, insightful and appropriate for your level of yoga experience. Our kind-hearted and well-trained Teachers bring a lot of knowledge and passion to their classes. Here is what you will find on our schedule:
Vinyasa Flow: Vinyasa Flow is an invigorating, uplifting and energetic practice where the movements and postures are synchronized with rhythmic breathing. Because of the relatively fast pace, the strong poses and challenges, this class is a best fit for students with some yoga experience and a basic understanding of the postures.
Slow Flow: With a focus on breath-supported yoga postures, Slow Vinyasa intends to release unwanted tension while cultivating strength, stability and range of motion in a mindful way. This practice will be more challenging than a Gentle Yoga class but it is accessible for many levels of practitioner.
Yoga Foundations: Build the essential elements of your yoga practice. Moving at a steady pace, these classes emphasize proper form, breathing techniques, and alignment, leaving you confident in your practice. Beginners will establish a solid foundation, while seasoned yogis will refine their skills and reawaken a "beginner's mindset." Each class has a workshop-style approach, focusing on a specific theme, allowing you to explore poses in-depth with modifications to suit your needs.
Ashtanga-Inspired Flow: This dynamic class is based on the traditional Ashtanga Yoga method. Using Pranayama (breath techniques), Dristi (gaze) and Asana (postures) you will work directly on the mind, body and nervous system. Ashtanga Inspired classes build endurance, breath capacity and mental focus.
Aerial Yoga: In this class a soft and supportive piece of fabric will help you explore, refine and advance traditional yoga postures while also growing mindful strength, increased range of motion, body alignment and awareness of breath, body and the Bandhas. This class uses the Unnata® Method of Aerial Yoga.
Ashtanga Open (Mysore): Connect with the ‘thread of breath’ while flowing through your memorized Asana Sequence and developing your independent practice. This class is not led as a whole, rather you will practice at your own pace and benefit from individualized verbal instruction and/or gentle adjustments from a teacher. This individual approach is the perfect fit for all levels of practitioners. The specific guidance and support offered by the teacher will help you deepen your practice. PLEASE NOTE that you can show up at anytime during class for the duration of your practice.
Yin Yang Yoga: Yin and Yang refer to a philosophy where opposite forces are seen as interconnected and counter-balanced. When applied to a Yoga practice the ‘Yang’ refers to a more active (warming) sequence working the muscles and blood flow, building strength and stamina. And the ‘Yin’ refers to a slower (cooling) practice where poses are held for longer working the deep, dense tissues of the body and dropping the practitioner in towards a more meditative state.
